CSR2 BTTF Time Machine — The DeLorean That Tops the Record Sheet

The Back to the Future Time Machine in CSR2 — all three variants, their record times and tunes, the 2025 collab story, and the honest answer on how to get one in 2026. The Part III DeLorean holds the fastest recorded time in the game.

CSR2 BTTF Time Machine — the Back to the Future DeLorean variants, record times, tunes and how to get one

The fastest recorded time in all of CSR2 doesn't belong to a Koenigsegg, a Rimac or the Hoonigan Indy Truck. On the community record sheet, it belongs to a movie prop: the BTTF Part III 'Time Machine' — a Back to the Future DeLorean — at 6.505 seconds. Here's the full story of the three Time Machines: where they came from, what each one runs, the exact record tunes, and the honest answer to the question everyone asks — can you still get one?

How a DeLorean Ended Up in CSR2

The collab arrived on February 18, 2025, when Zynga partnered with Universal to celebrate Back to the Future's 40th anniversary. It wasn't a one-off: the plan was a series of themed events through the year, complete with a BTTF storyline and themed UI in-game. Zynga's games VP set the tone at launch — players would be "popping open those gullwing doors, hopping in, and gunning it to 88." One detail Zynga was upfront about: the cars have no special abilities or performance gimmicks. They're proper T5 racers that happen to be time machines.

A detail that still makes players smile: in the game's own menus, the manufacturer isn't listed as DeLorean — it's literally "Back To The Future." Which has a real gameplay consequence we'll get to.

The Three Time Machines

Each film's DeLorean came as its own separate Tier 5 car, in its own limited event — and building one did nothing for the next, since they're different cars from the same "manufacturer":

VariantEvent windowRecord time
BTTF 'Time Machine' (film 1)Feb 18–25, 20256.620s
BTTF Part II 'Time Machine'July 1–8, 20256.576s
BTTF Part III 'Time Machine'from Sept 12, 20256.505s

Record times are from our world-records database — fully built cars, all Stage 6 parts and fusions, optimal tune. The pattern is neat: each successive film's car arrived slightly faster than the last, with Part III landing right at the top of the entire game.

The Fastest Recorded Car in the Game

That 6.505 puts the Part III Time Machine a few thousandths ahead of the Honda Hoonigan Indy Truck (6.511) on our record sheet — and it carries the biggest EVO figure we've logged for any car (2,699), which our data analysis found is the number that actually tracks speed. The usual caveat applies at this altitude: the entire T5 top ten sits within 0.074 seconds, so the crown can move the moment someone posts a cleaner run. But as of mid-2026, the top of CSR2 is a DeLorean with a flux capacitor.

The Record Tunes

All three variants run the same tune profile at the record level — the differences are in the shift execution and the build underneath:

VariantNitroFinal driveTiresDynoBest ET
BTTF (film 1)188/4.02.000/1006.6586.620
Part II188/4.02.000/1006.6106.576
Part III188/4.02.000/1006.5346.505

Notice all three beat their dynos — like 99% of record cars, the dyno is a floor, not a ceiling. The margin comes from clean launches and shifting for time, not points.

The Catch: These Were Paid Flash Cars

Here's the part the highlight reels skip. All three Time Machines came through paid flash events — you bought event crates to get and build the car, and the community estimated finishing one properly cost somewhere around a hundred dollars. Worse, because the in-game manufacturer is "Back To The Future," its fusion parts exist nowhere else in the game — no stripping a donor DeLorean, no farming a related brand. Outside the event crates, the parts simply don't drop. That made the cars both genuinely fast and genuinely resented — the community's "cash car" complaints were loud even while the record times spoke for themselves.

Can You Get One in 2026? (Honest Answer)

Right now, no — not through normal play. All three events ended in 2025, and as of mid-2026 none of them has been rerun. CSR2 does rerun flash events routinely, and the collab was framed as an anniversary celebration with multiple beats, so a return is plausible — but nothing is announced, and waiting is the only free option. If a rerun lands, expect the same structure: paid crates, event-only fusion parts, roughly a week to build it.

The other route is the one we handle: a fully built Time Machine — or any car from the record sheet — delivered to your own account, Stage 6 and fusions done. If the car you want is event-locked, message us and we'll tell you straight what's possible for your account before anything is agreed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the BTTF Time Machine the fastest car in CSR2?

On the community record sheet, yes — the Part III variant's 6.505s is the fastest recorded time in the game as of mid-2026, just ahead of the Hoonigan Indy Truck. The T5 top ten is separated by hundredths, so the crown moves whenever records fall.

How many BTTF cars are in CSR2?

Three, one per film — the original Time Machine, Part II, and Part III. Each is a separate Tier 5 car from the "Back To The Future" manufacturer, released in its own 2025 event.

How do you get the Time Machine in CSR2?

Originally through paid flash events in 2025 (February, July and September). None has rerun as of mid-2026, so currently it's wait-for-a-rerun — or have a built one delivered to your account through our service.

Why can't I find fusion parts for my BTTF car?

Because the manufacturer is "Back To The Future," its fusion parts only ever dropped from the event's own crates. No other car in the game shares the brand, so there's nothing to strip or farm between events.

Do the Time Machines have special abilities?

No — Zynga confirmed at launch they have no performance gimmicks. They're standard (very fast) Tier 5 cars with movie styling.
