CSR2 Camaro DuSold Designs — Best Tune, Shift Pattern & Stage 6 Guide

CSR Elite 5 min readMay 22, 2026

The Chevrolet Camaro DuSold Designs hits 6.550s fully maxed — 4th fastest in CSR2. Exact tune, late-shift pattern explained, Stage 5 baseline and what makes this Camaro different to drive.

CSR2 Chevrolet Camaro DuSold Designs best tune and shift pattern — 6.550s Stage 6 fully maxed

The CSR2 Camaro DuSold Designs sits fourth on the Tier 5 leaderboard at 6.550 seconds when fully maxed — and it earns that position with a car that has one of the most interesting real-world backstories in the game. This isn't a factory Camaro with some bolt-ons. Mike DuSold started with a 1967 Camaro shell and rebuilt everything underneath from scratch. The result is a Pikes Peak hillclimb competitor that produces over 1,200 horsepower and rewards a very specific driving approach in CSR2. Get the shift pattern right and it's one of the cleanest-running T5 cars in the game. Get it wrong and you'll leave half a second on the table.

About the Chevrolet Camaro DuSold Designs

Mike DuSold's build is based out of Louisville, Texas, and it took the 1967 Camaro shell as a starting point and not much else. The original drivetrain was replaced entirely with components sourced from a C6 Z06 Corvette, and the engine is a twin-turbocharged LSX V8 running 16 pounds of boost and producing over 1,200 horsepower. What makes the build unusual even by Pikes Peak standards is the Rocket Anti-Lag system — it maintains turbo pressure between gearchanges so the boost doesn't drop on each upshift. In a hillclimb context that means no turbo lag through corners. In CSR2 it means the engine stays loaded with boost through your shift sequence, which is exactly why this car wants late shifts rather than perfect ones.

DuSold ran it at the 2022 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb and finished in the top 15 on the mountain. The combination of a classic Camaro body with genuine 1,200-horsepower turbo engineering is what makes this car stand out in the CSR2 garage — and why building it correctly matters.

Stage 5 Baseline — What to Expect

A fully Stage 5 upgraded and fully fused Camaro DuSold Designs runs an 8.213-second ½ mile. That's noticeably quicker than the SC63's Stage 5 baseline, which reflects the higher raw power output of the LSX build. All five upgrade slots and every fusion slot need to be filled before the Stage 6 investment begins. The tune values below assume this baseline is fully in place — if your fusion count is short, use the SEC fallback value on NOS rather than the BHP figure.

CSR2 Camaro DuSold Designs Best Tune — Fully Maxed Stage 6

This tune applies when all 7 Stage 6 parts are installed and all fusion slots are filled. At this configuration the Camaro DuSold Designs runs 6.550 seconds.

SettingValue
NOS188 BHP / 4.0 SEC
Final Drive2.00
Tire Pressure0 ACC / 100 GRIP
Best Time6.550s

Final Drive at 2.00 is tighter than most T5 cars — it keeps the engine in its power band longer through each gear, which works with the late-shift pattern below. Full GRIP on tire pressure is correct here; the LSX build transfers weight aggressively off the line and you need traction, not wheelspin. On NOS: 188 BHP assumes all fusion slots are filled. If you're still building toward that, use the 4.0 SEC value — the shift pattern stays the same either way.

DuSold Camaro Shift Pattern

This is where the Camaro DuSold Designs is genuinely different from most other T5 cars. Most cars want perfect shifts — hitting the shift point cleanly in the green zone. This car wants late shifts, meaning you hold each gear close to the RPM limit before moving to the next. The turbo Anti-Lag system is why: boost pressure is maintained through the shift, so there's no penalty for staying in gear longer. You're getting maximum power delivery right up to the shift point rather than shifting early and waiting for the turbo to re-spool.

StepAction
StartPerfect — release shortly before the countdown ends
ImmediatelyShift into 2nd gear
With 2nd gearActivate NOS right away
3rd gearLate shift — close to max RPM
4th gearLate shift — close to max RPM
5th gearLate shift — close to max RPM
6th gearLate shift — close to max RPM

The start is a Perfect launch — unlike the SC63's slow start, the Camaro DuSold wants you right on the edge of the perfect window, releasing just before the countdown hits zero. Shift straight to 2nd and hit NOS immediately. From 3rd through 6th you're holding each gear until you're close to the RPM ceiling before shifting. This feels counterintuitive if you're used to perfect-shift cars, but it's what the boost characteristics of this build require. Fighting it costs you a significant chunk of the run.

Elite Tuning

If you have Elite Upgrades installed on the Camaro DuSold Designs, run a Dyno session after applying them to verify whether the NOS setting has shifted. Elite Upgrades on high-boost turbo cars sometimes adjust the optimal NOS value slightly. The tune values in the table are for full Stage 6 plus fusions without Elite Upgrades factored in. Re-Dyno after any Elite change before taking the car into Live Races.

Fusions — What to Know

The Camaro DuSold Designs is a Chevrolet-manufacturer car, so Chevrolet-specific bronze key crates are your best source for matching fusion parts. General bronze crates will work but the drop rate for the right manufacturer is lower. Fill every slot before finalising your tune — each missing fusion pulls the optimal NOS value away from 188 BHP toward the 4.0 SEC end. The 6.550-second time requires the full fusion complement. Don't skip this step.

Getting the Camaro DuSold Designs

The Chevrolet Camaro DuSold Designs is available through the Prestige Cup and special build event cycles. Like most high-end T5 cars, it appears during specific event windows rather than being permanently available. If you want it fully built and ready to race without waiting on event timings or grinding out Stage 6 parts and fusions, CSR2 mods get it there directly — car in your garage, built to the 6.550-second spec, on iOS or Android.
